When Can It Start?
Celiac disease can begin at any age from six months to ninety-plus years.
Once considered to be a disease exclusive to childhood, celiac disease is now commonly seen among adults. Most of the newly-diagnosed adult celiacs lie within the age range of thirty to forty-five years and a significant number fall in the over-sixty category. In children, it usually begins to manifest at around two years and it may take several years to be diagnosed.
